“Nice to meet you Rose. Now run for your life.”

Ah the sheer joy that was Saturday at 7pm on BBC One. I am so glad Andy and I have TiVO but I still rushed home from the most excellent Compulsion 2005 to catch what I hoped would be a triumphant return. Its been a while but the Doctor is back and despite a few reservations about the pilot only being a one parter I enjoyed every minute of it.

Christopher Eccleston is a wonderfully slightly unhinged, very alien Doctor. I also have to admit that some of the lines had me laughing out loud, especially the, as Sylvester McCoy says in his review (here), new pick up line “It also travels through time”. Billie Piper was actually quite good, not as good as Eccleston but I would not expect it to be otherwise I am sure she will grow on me even more in time and will make an excellent Doctors assistant.

In case you haven’t guessed I loved it, and the season pass is booked… Saturdays have again got a show worth watching.

[edit] - Noooooo………..!!!! - LINK… such a shame, understandable, but still a shame. :’(
