Weekend…

Well, that was a busier weekend than normal…

Lets see, to start of I was helping out with the tech side of the East Scotland Divisional Kids Sleepover… yeah I know kids and me rarely mix well but to be honest it was not that bad, I was busy throughout with the tech so it was a lot more fun than expected. Except that I discovered I had forgotten my pillow and sleeping bag so I ended up sleeping on the hall floor, covered by my large beach towel which I had thankfully brought instead of a smaller one. Sleep, however, was not high on the agenda for some of them there and it was about 4.30am before I could even think about sleeping, and then I kept on waking up because of being…well… a bit uncomfortable. Never mind though, it seemed to have all gone down rather well and the kids enjoyed themselves… I think.

I got home mid afternoon on Saturday and had a quiet evening in, for the morning brought an early get up (for me on a Sunday) to attend Edinburgh’s sneak peek tournament for the JLA release for the Versus Card Game. The tournament was a lot of fun except that my deck I had made from the boosters I was given worked well in the tets game (which never got a chance to finish) and then in the first round it worked and I won my first 2 player game in quite a while… and then it got increasingly humiliating, every game I got beaten again and again. By the end of the 5 rounds I had 1 win and 4 loses, the last two games taking under fifteen minutes each to beat me. It was disappointing but still fun to play against people I haven’t played against before. For those who are interested my favourite card from what I got is this one… not that it means a lot to those who don’t play. Now I just have to wait a few weeks before the set is actually released.

Anyway… I had to dash off after the fifth, and final, round so I could get to Gorgie as I was playing in the worship band that night. The tournament ended at 4pm and I managed to get across city, on buses, on a Sunday in 45 minutes… I was impressed. After the meeting I had a rather enjoyable evening of playing the DVD edition of trivial pursuit and eating freshly made Bolognese with some of my friends from church.

To crown it all I have been on holiday Friday and Monday which has been nice (even if I have had a couple of phone calls from work - grr). Never mind though I’m feeling a surprisingly refreshed, although going back to work tomorrow is not exactly a high point, but hey, all things are transitory ;)

Laters people, I’m off to enjoy what is left of my day off.
