Crimbo-Catch-up

Wooh, its been a while since I updated, sorry about that my loyal reader :).
Oh and sorry for the title, I can’t really believe I actually wrote that… shudder.
Not much has been happening up my way… actually thinking about it, it has been quite busy, at least the weekends have been. Lets see, I’ve been at an amazing Saturday day/evening/night thing with Wake N The Dead and Edinburgh’s 24/7 people. It was really cool to meet new people, and those who I haven’t seen in a while. Last weekend I went to see Kong, which ROCKS! Really long, and I can see some of the complaints people have had as being valid but they didn’t bother me, and I was very surprised by Jack Black.
Apart from that, I’ve not been doing much else, oh yeah, except for applying for a job. This job however is a bit special and one that I would love to get, God willing. It’s a year contract as an assistant teacher… in Tokyo.
Now you can see why I would love to get it. For those of you who don’t know Japan has held a special place in my heart for years for multitudes of different reasons over the years. It would be a tough but extremely rewarding year. I am going to be sending off my CV to the UK contact on Wednesday so if you feel inclined please pray for it.
Anyway, I thinks that’s about it, I’ll probably try and blog sometime over the festive two weeks but no guarantees. Remember, it takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown and even less to punch someone for pointing that out
Seriously though, Christmas is a hectic time for many, and many of you know my opinions of this time of year so I will not bore you with them, just try and take a moment for quiet reflection. Be it on God and the Christ child, or even just on those you love and hold dear. There is a Jewish word which has been said to mean “to pause and reflect” on what has just been said, it is Selah (say-lah).
So, as this year and another frantic commercialist obsessed rush to buy material gifts ends and as we recall the horrors, the blessing, the evil, the good, the sad times, and the happy times that have been this year. As we remember those who are no longer with us. As we celebrate those who are. Selah.
