Female Teaching etc in the church
As a Salvationist I have no issues with women in ministry, however I know that some people do and thats cool its part of the Christian life to accept each others faith and beliefs (see Romans 14 to 15v7). I have to admit that I can sometimes find it hard to remember all the scriptural and theological backing for my belief about this on the spot (something I intend to at some point to fix). In the mean time however I came cross THIS at the Council of War website I frequent (which is currently undergoing a bit of a revamp). it a pamphlet that the Army’s Mother (Catherine Booth) wrote defending the biblical view of women preaching/teaching/prophecising (sp?), its a bit difficult to follow in parts due to the changes in English language since the late 1800’s but its points are still clear and valid… worth a look if the subject interests you.
On a side note to this, read Catherine Booth’s “Papers on Aggressive Christianity“, not THAT is powerful teaching.
Laters.
