According to www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm there 1 billion people with some form of internet access (world population is around 6.5billion), of this 1.2% play MMORPG’s.
According to MMOGCHART.COM, World of Warcraft has just over 6.5million subscribers, this is just over 50% of all MMORPG subscriptions… so to put this in perspective this is MORE than the entire population of Scotland (which is just around 5.5million).
People… Blizzard has an Army, if this Army was to rise up and march on the sovereign nation of Panama it would outnumber every man, woman, and child… 2 to 1… run for the hills.
