Days 8 and 9 - Exploration and Explantion
Filed under: Living in Japan
Well lets see, now that I have a flight booked back to the UK I have had to make a list of what I want to see and started to think about how to get to see it. So yesterday (that’s Tuesday by the way) I had a bit of a day off and only really went to Shinjuku to do some shopping… I went and splashed out on a new graphics tablet… not a Cintiq but its a nice one… if it starts to work properly… grrr! Today I went to Tokyo Bay briefly and went to a science museum down there which was really quite cool, all the displays had English and it was a very hand’s on type of place. What was even better was that it was packed, with children enjoying themselves… always a good thing to see, especially at a museum.
So my list of places to go draws smaller, and places I have been grows larger. I do not think I will get an opportunity to go everywhere mainly due to time and money… well the heat has a considerable impact as well
So that covers the Exploration section of the title, as for Explanation, well I thought I should really explain my thinking about coming back home rather than trying to stay out here. I have tried to think how to put into words the reasons why I think that coming home is the right choice, a lot of them make sense in my head bur putting them to “paper” just doesn’t quite come out right. Needless to say I would love to come back to Japan, perhaps to work, perhaps not, but I have learnt many lessons from this short time and in time I hope to make sense of it all and then to be able to become a better person because of this. Not much of an explanation is it? Perhaps in reflection the reasons and the lessons will become clearer and I will be able to share them in time.
Anyway, I am alone at the moment as the Yoshida’s are now on holiday until late Friday so I have had to cook my first meal in my flat, which considering I didn’t have the usual array of spices from the old flat I think I did quite well. I am hoping to go and see the opening match of te Japanese Rugby season on Friday with Norman, should be fun.
Thanks again for all your kind words and thoughts etc it has meant a lot to me.
Laters.
EDIT: I have at last managed to get the photo’s up and online, there are no real descriptions yet but I’ll get to that at some point, anyway if you are interested here is the link - HERE. I’ll try and keep these updated as I go, be warned that some are blurred but I decided to still upload them as you can still get some idea of what they are suposed to be.

We’re all sorry to hear it didn’t work out the way you hoped mate. We’re proud you even tried such a bold venture, it will be good to know that there will be another friendly face when Kai and I come back up to visit burgh, or if you’re down here at my end you’d be welcome to visit and stay. Take care.

Hi, Adam,
just been talking to Will Hume and he told me of your “predicament”, sounds really nasty mate. Guess we’ll be seeing back in the comic shop sooner than expected! Drop me a line and let me know how things are going.
All the best and TTFN

Glad to hear you are able to make the most of the time out there. Japan is still one of the places near the top of my list to see.
When you come back are you aiming for Glasgow or Edinburgh?
