The end of what was the beginning, but may yet be just another beginning, or an end, or something… I need sleep

Well, I am now back in the UK, actually I am in a Virgin Train travelling north to the homeland. One thing I must say about Virgin trains is that you can get a power point to plug in your laptop, which is nice since I used up my battery at Narita airport and on the plane.
Speaking of which, I had to get up for 5am Tokyo time (that’s 9pm Wednesday UK time), leave the flat by 5.30 and try and get to Narita… this involved eventually deciding to get a taxi as the buses didn’t start until 6.30am, the driver didn’t speak English but thankfully the Rough Guide (all hail the Rough Guides by the way, such founts of knowledge they are) came to my rescue and I got to Shinjuku Airport Limousine Bus stop and got on the bus and arrived at Narita about an hour before check in. Anyway most of you now the drill for airports, you queue, you get checked in, you queue, you get to the terminal, you wander, you get to the gate, and you queue… I managed t grab something to eat at least before getting on just incase. Anyway I was allocated the same seat I had on the incoming flight just on the opposite side and again someone was beside me. He talked t the attendants and after take-off one of them case up to us, the strange thing was I was the one offered the move not the guy… not that I objected I was upgraded to Economy plus which I must say des have so much more leg room, the down side was that the seat were designed differently so they were actually less comfortable for me as they, well, squeezed me (although I bet that’s an image you guys didn’t need) and also the table (which for some reason was n the arm rests) couldn’t be laid flat because of my monster thighs. So in short my flight was actually less comfortable.
We got back to the UK a bit ahead of schedule but once I got through all the stuff for arrivals it was about 4pm so I decided to check in with the parents… two hours later I am on a train and in a further 5 hours I’ll be in Glasgow, a little while later I’ll be in Barrhead. So by the end of I will have been travelling for a grand total of around 27hours… it hurts, physically, mentally, and financially :). One cool thing that happened amidst the pains, the aches, the breaking of shoe laces, was that when I was in Paddington Station bemoaning the fact that no where seemed to have shoelaces a woman for the flight came up just to say hi, as she recognised me from the flight… what’s weirder is I recognised her as well, anyway she was going in opposite directions and so bade me well on my journey, I returned the favour and we went our separate ways… I mention this only because I doubt she realised just how much it meant, there I was down beaten and tired and yet she made eteh effort to say hi to a stranger she recognised from a flight.
So after it is all said and done what do I think, what are my views, opinions on not just Japan but the whole affair of it all… I’m afraid I’m still digesting it and since I’m shattered that is having an effect… so later my friends, later.
Until then may your chickens be robots… Denny Crane.
EDIT: I’m home… got here about 11.30pm on Thursday and slept like a log last night, started the process of claiming benefits again until I get back to work and then a new flat. Thanks again for all the comments and emails its been cool, and quite humbling, to see people ask after me. Anyway I’m off to try and make the Gundam I bought

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, she’s stalking you. Next thing you know she’ll run you down and then you’ll have to get her out of mad-house and then you’ll think she’s stalking you and it will all get weird and involve dressing up as batman and robin, with catwoman played by a hooker (which come to think of it ain’t that far from the last movie).
Glad to hear that your back in the uk and all is well. When are you comming over to Edinburgh to visit all your old friends (those of us that are left in the city anyway)?
