Well I’ve been doing Project365 for a month now, and its not been easy to try and create an image a day… I am unsure wither or not I have failed as I have uploaded an image a day, and that image has been made that day, BUT, not all of them have been “created” by me, a few of them are photos or montages. This is technically closer to the true Project365 and not the warped version I was trying to do of creating an image a day.

At any rate this is a good time to take stock and look back. Looking back there is a lot of rubbish art there but some I really like, either because they show some promise or even just look good. So here is my picks for January:

Sketch of a Female Face. I like this one partly because it means I can still draw from reference, which is a relief, and that it looks ok… the face by the way was Alicia Witt, an actress.

Alien Head. This was one of those happy, “Oh it worked” images, although it does look like a cross between a crocodile and a cow.

Sci-Fi City. The first image… although not perfect I loved the style I managed to get using custom brushes. I do intend revisiting cityscapes at some point.

Draenei Quick Sketch. I can remember drawing this, the lines suddenly formed the nose and mouth and then quickly the basic form took shape and then I decided to take make it look like a Draenei.

Church Photomanip. Kind of a practice run as I want to do photo-manipulation art for the company, The only thing that bugs me about this one is the church ruin photo wasn’t that great but it was the only stock photo I had of one.

Revolution Poster. The first definite poster design I will be selling. I really like this and it looks good printed.

CGTalk DSG Scotland Travel Poster. Enjoyed making this one, its not as clean as I would like but its still not too bad.

I think I won’t be so bothered now if I miss a day completely but I REALLY do want to try and create something every day be it a photo or a piece of artwork. Hopefully I will. If you want you can always send me ideas of stuff to do, themes, subjects etc it would probably help

Let see, not much else happening, I’ll be going through to Gorgie on Sunday (4th Feb), I’m starting to get publicity out for my company and hopefully I should get some business. Still no flat though, but I’m still looking… oh andI’ve updated this websites various software to its latest version, hopefully they’ll play nice.
