Where’s the earth shattering kaboom?

Ok, not quite, but the following still sucks.

This morning I booted my PC and when I came back the screen was black… hmm, I thought, and then rebooted it… nothing… power came on, hardsisk powered up, screen even flickered for a moment showing it was getting power. Crap, this means somethings gone. To cut a long, and for many boring, story short, after talking with the laptops manufacturers it was diagnosed as a faulty RAM chip, of which I thankfully have two so I am now waiting for the replacement (which is coming from the US) which means I’m running on half the RAM I normally do.

This may not sound bad as it means I still have 1Gb instead of 2, but when you’ve got used to it you suddenly notice its absence.

Kinda sucky really. Suppose I should be thankful I am still in my one year warranty (if only by a matter of weeks).

This suckyness is counterbalanced by the letter I received telling me my business start up grant has been approved and will be in my bank by the end of next week. Woot! Of course when I got this I was beginning to wonder if it was going to have to go towards a new PC if this one had died completely.

Laters

EDIT: Well, lets see, Saturday my chair broke, and then Sunday I left my Art Journal in Gorgie. I hope this week improves before Saturday the 10th when I’m helping out with the tech at the Youth Rall. :)

  1. Sorry to hear that, you’ve had a lot of trouble with that laptop. Mines playing up at the moment as well the eject button on my dvd player no longer works, you have to use the emergency eject pinhole, still under waranty so I’ll get it fixed sometime.

Have you seen the latest Heroes yet?

  2. Not at the moment its on my playlist for tonight though.

    EDIT:“GULP” :)
I must say that I am REALLY enjoying this show.

  3. GULP!

Nice to see the kids ability is starting to come in to the show, thats something we’ve known about for a fair while and theve played down so far.

Did you come accross the “I’m gay/I’m straight” controvesy on the web over the character Zach?

  4. No, I had missed that… I never even thought he was gay, to me he always seemed like he was more struggling not to fall for his “hot cheerleader and completely out of his league” friend and a emo-wannabe who was secure in being his own person.

Guess people see things differently from different perspectives.
