Vista is a pretty picture…
…and thats about it as far as I am concerned. After now working with Vista for about a month I can safely say its all looks and nothing else (at least Home Basic is, I am sure the ULTIMATE version is much nicer, it should be at the cost.
Why the out cry, well for the past three weeks I have been fruitlessly trying to get 3 XP and 4 Vista Home Basic PCs to talk to one another… I can ow get the Vista machines to acknowledge the existence of the XP ones but nothing else, and now the XP ones can’t see the Vista ones and won’t talk to teach other… it like some disfunctional family reunion gone wrong!
Whats worse is that I have tried all the solutions I can find across the web, and there are many… which is not a good thing as it means alot of people are having the same problems… anyway I am supposed to be working and trying to find solution so rant over for now.

Wow, sounds like a networking nightmare.
I like your analogy, though — a pretty picture, and not much else. Some other guy called it a fifty-pound weight on his shoulders.
I still have XP, and don’t see any reason to change. I’ll probably get a Mac next time.
Interesting how Microsoft’s fortunes can change so quickly. All that “excitement” about the Vista release, only to be followed by web-wide mockery and questions about their relevance. (Or, irrelevance?)
Though, considering the 5-year lag, maybe this was obviously coming.
