Painting by guesswork
Well, I have to admit I am quite pleased with myself. I actually sat down (well stood) and done some actual acrylic painting today (results).
I am pleased because I am actually kinda happy with “Mountains and red touched sky”, I watered the arylics to make a watercolour-ish background then used a trowel (or whatever you call them) to make the mountains, finally touching it up and finishing off the pictures with brushes. So it was a real experiment with different techniques. “Ascension” I have to say I am very pleased with, not just as a painting but even if I had done it on the PC. I used only brushes in this one, nd I am really pleased how the texture and light came together. There was a third one of a creatures head it didn’t really get completed as I don’t have the sill/tools to ad real detail which it needed, so no photo of that one.
I really should be using this time while I look for work to practice and gain some more skill as I will undoubtedly not be as in the mood when I start working. You never know, I might get happy enough with my paintings to actually sell them… maybe
EDIT: I must be enjoying this painting stuff, here are three more - LINK, I don’t think they are as good as “Ascension” but I’m still quite proud of them

My 2 Cents-
They’re good. Can’t think which I like best. The ascension one has nice contrast with the red one side and blue on other and the dark rocks at the bottom are nice too. Bloke in the middle looks a little too Christ like but I’ll let you off for being Christian. The mountains are simple but effective. Maybe a touch too much sky…. or not enough mountain…..maybe a moon or some other item is needed in the picture.
Still I’m impressed, I’d like to see the textures of it assuming i’m right about the ink used……..
